3D Print Accessories

It is the little things that add so much to any miniature scene.

All 3D prints are unpainted. Most are white but a few are translucent for the look of crystal or glass.

Painting 3D Prints
Prep Work
Clip off any strings and sand lightly to remove any rough spots.

Prints can be primed with acrylic spray paint for a smoother finish. Rub the base over a sanding stick or emery board to make it perfectly flat.

Painting
Acrylic craft paint works well. Use a light first coat and let dry. Clean out the opening in handles and remove paint from vase interiors with a clean brush or toothpick. lightly sand or buff the surface. Apply a second coat of paint. A third coat may be necessary for some items. A tooth pick or fine brush can be used to create decorative patterns and highlight edges.

Porcelain Look
Paint a thin coat of high gloss clear acrylic varnish over your painted piece. Or use coloured nail polish instead of your second coat of paint. A clear gloss coat on translucent 3D prints give them the sparkle of crystal.
