A Garden Folly was a fashionable addition in 16th century gardens and continued to delight and amuse through the 18th and 19th century and even today. Built to resemble ancient ruins, some were actual ruins transported from ancient lands and some were built new by tallented craftsmen. All of them were made to amuse, delight and sometimes startle garden visitors.
The kit includes a 3" x 3" base, wood walls, door and window trim and a 3D Hyde-Park urn. A simple little kit ready for you to add your own creative touches.
Originally conservatories were installed by wealthy land owners to grow exotic citrus fruit not available in the local climate. With the developement of iron structures and larger glass areas they became more accessible and evolved into areas to grow other exotic plants and provide tropical sitting rooms.
